Context:
This micro blog is for them who have installed HCP already without using HCP interactive installation script and looking for a shortcut to open all firewall ports at once
Issue:
In general HCP needs few specific ports to be opened from customer network to connect to cloud, user workstations and embedded software. For IT admins, it is bit painful to go through HCP port details documentation and open each port manually.
Resolution:
This document aids an easy way to automate the opening of various ports within the firewall. After successful HCP installation in-premise, IT admins can run the following script followed by connecting HCP console from remote systems
Download this attached shell script [Firewall_port_opening_RHEL_CentOS.sh], put it into the same Linux sever where HCP is located and provide proper permission (755) before running it.
Once run, the shell script will open all necessary ports at once and add them as permanent rules within your Firewall. That means even if the Firewall gets restarted, the port opening rules would not be forgotten.
