Context:
The customer wants to deploy a queue for colour and a queue for mono for embedded terminal release
Issue:
The customer would like to allow colour print for only certain users and mono print for all users
Resolution:
In this example,
- 2 x Local user groups have been created: Colour and Mono
- 2 x input ports have been created: Colour and Mono
- All users will have access to mono print
- A group of users will have access to colour print
- User Colourtest has access to colour and mono input ports
- User Monotest has access to mono input port only
- HCP PC Client has been setup to use local storage mode
2 x Pull queues created as input ports:
2 x new local user groups:
Colour
Mono
To allow access to the colour input port, set access control for the group of users named 'colour' (remember to remove the 'local users' group)
By default, all local all users will have access to the Mono input port:
As a result, a user that is a member of the colour group will see both colour and mono input ports:
A user that is only a member of 'local users' can only see the Mono input port:
If a user printing to the mono input port tries to print in colour, a trigger can be put in place:
This configuration will now be functional with HCP embedded
